I love reading your blog. Although I’m not in the catering trade (I work in education) I find every day interesting and inspirational. I hope that some of our students may decide to follow your lead and travel the world to develop themselves and others.
If you ever get back to your native parts – let me know. Lunch is on me, training restaurant lunch obviously.
Have an excellent weekend.
Alison

Fahmi Ramadhan
Dear Fahmi,
I love this industry, it has been very good to me and after 30 wonderful years I feel that it is time to give something back to the younger generation who are just entering.
I came up through the school of hard knocks, mis-treatment and abuse of the old, I would love it If I could make just a small change.
Thanks for the very kind words, support and your help.
Warm regards,
Mike.
I am so eager to follow all of your recipes stated here on your blog. Especially the mashed potatoes recipe.
I really did have lots of interests and determination to learn culinary skills but i wasn’t able to do so since i’m more towards technical field background. Now i’m a graduate and unemployed, thought maybe i should get dirty in the kitchen from now on. I am all that confident again when u state that you offer free recipes for all on your page. Hope you are able to continue to write more entries about food and recipes, and i am so interested to learn from you..
Hakim
Dear Hakim,
Never fear, keep posted and there will be lots more recipes on the way.
Chef Kasdi and I will work hard to ensure that you get the basic cooking skills needed to cook great and healthy meals at home for yourself and your loved ones.
Warm regards,
Mike.
Great Site Michael. Am a travelling chef/ writer/ photographer, only a few years in. Will have your site firmly linked to mine and bookmarked for much info and inspiration!! Thanks for the excellent writing and happy travelling
Clare
Dear Clare,
It is really lovely to get nice comments from good people like yourself.
This only inspires me to keep going and work harder, if I am able to make even one person feel better about themselves, it will all of been worth while.
If we can’t feel good about ourselves then life becomes very tough and we can get worn down by circumstances and events that occur around us.
Helping each other where we can will surely add to lifes pleasures and make us more succesful.
You get out of life as much as you put in.
Warm regards,
Mike.
Hi Mike,

Hello Michael. Greetings from Kuala Lumpur. It has been a very long time since we last met although I have had, on many occasions, the pleasure of E&O and Lone Pine hospitality. 2009 is a nostalgic year for the Teoh family with the closing of The Lone Pine for its upgrading works. We said our farewell to the grand old lady in March. It was an emotional visit as The Lone Pine has over the years become a part of ‘the family’ especially for my children who have been regular visitors since they were born. And with the escalating costs of hotel accommodation these days we are also aware that it may have been the last time we stay with The Lone Pine. But it wasn’t a sad visit. On the contrary the whole family shall always cherish their memories at The Lone Pine. All of which, of course would not have been without the dedication of your team of excellent staff. Thank you.
And now your BLOG!!! It is an impressive one, Michael. Congratulations!!! And thank you so much for sharing with us. I shall be a regular visitor for sure.
Whenever you are in KL please allow us to host you to a fresh seafood dinner at our Damansara Village Steamboat Restaurant (www.damansaravillage.blogspot.com) It would be our honour to host a distinguished chef and hotelier such as yourself.
Cheers.
Dear Patrick,
Thank you very much for all of your kind words, I don’t know what to say really.
Patrick, your visits at the Lone Pine have not stopped forever, very much on the contrary.
We hope to open our doors again (soft opening) by this year end and I promise that you will be one of the first people we shall call.
We will always take care of our long and faithful supporters, if we do not do that, I believe that all will be lost.
We are looking forward, camera in hand, to take a picture of you and your family swimming in our new pool.
I will definitely call you the next time I go to K.L and when I have some free time.
Warm regards,
Mike.
This is a great start Mike! I’ll look forward to more.
Dear Jeff,
Sincere thanks for dropping by and for your helpful comments.
Looking forward to seeing lots more of you.
Warm regards,
Mike.
great blog!!
Dear Louise,
Thanks for dropping by to say hello and thanks for the positive comments about Chef’s Tales Blog.
Felice in the kitchen is great too!
Congratulations to you.
warm regards,
Mike.
Hi Mike
Great to find your blog. We will follow with interest. Now we have two things in common: a great and abiding love of the E&O…. and the same for food. We are firmly in the ‘consumer’ league (a little too firmly, hehe). But we do like to cook for ourselves too – mostly Asian. A picture is always worth a thousand words, copy this into your URL and it should show you some of our favourite meals:

Lyn and Jon
Dear Lyn and Jon,
Wow! there are some lovely pictures there, thanks for sharing them with everyone.
Please be regulars in dropping by as I will try to ensure there are 3 posts every week to keep it interesting.
Warm regards,
Mike.
Hey Mike! Excellent blog. I’m not a foodie, can barely cook and neither am I in the food business but I thoroughly enjoy your stories and musings. Might even try your recipes. But one question though…how in the world do you find the time to do this?
Hi Karen,
You don’t have to be a foodie to enjoy Chef’s Tales, please go to my musings roll and read some inspirational and humorous stories.
You can also drop off some of your own musings if you like, its kind of a community blog more than anything else.
I find time to do this by getting others involved so that they express themselves too. I am the founder of the blog, but we have contributors such as Philip the blog master, Chef Kasdi our resident chef and Mazeta, who is our blog reporter.
Everyone chips in and enjoys the participation…you should too.
Thanks for dropping by and I hope to see you again soon.
Warm regards,
Mike.
